Australian cotton farming: high productivity and new agrotechnologies

These days, a delegation comprising representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and members of the Cotton Council under the President is on an official visit to Australia. The delegation members are also closely studying Australia's experience in the cotton industry.

"100% of the fields are planted with third-generation Bt-gene varieties, yielding 80–90 centners per hectare and generating an income of $6,000 (with $2,500 in expenses). The implementation of a full market mechanism and new agro-technologies has brought significant benefits to cotton producers," said the delegation leader, Shukhrat Otajonov, Director of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture.
