 Global problems and achievements of cotton cultivation in the context of climate change

    

     An important scientific and practical conference titled "Global Issues and Achievements of Cotton Growing under Climate Change Conditions" was held in Uzbekistan at the Institute of Cotton Breeding, Seed Production, and Agro-technologies.

     The conference, organized by the National Center for Knowledge and Innovations in Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, brought together renowned scientists, specialists, and practitioners from various countries around the world. The opening ceremony featured speeches by the leaders of prominent research institutes and international scholars. Shodman Ergashovich Namozov, Director of the Institute of Cotton Breeding, Seed Production, and Agro-technologies, chaired the event and spoke about the pressing issues of cotton growing in Uzbekistan and global achievements in this field.

     Also participating in the event were the Director of the National Center, Secretary of the Cotton Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor Shuhrat Otajonov, as well as prominent scientists from China, Turkey, Tajikistan, and other countries who shared their presentations. In particular, Chinese Professor Wang Zhanbiao presented a report on "The Impact of Climate Change on the Yield and Quality of Cotton in Xinjiang", and Turkish Professor Aysha Nuran Chil shared the latest research results on "Determining the Genetic Modification Status of Maize, Cotton, and Soybean Genotypes". These reports were met with great interest.

     The conference featured the latest scientific developments aimed at reducing the impact of climate change on cotton production, as well as advancing genetic research and agro-technologies. Practical recommendations were also given on resource conservation and the development of the national gene pool.
