Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov Met with Cluster Leaders, Farmers, and Agricultural Specialists in Mirzaobod District of Sirdaryo Region
In our country, systemic reforms aimed at modernizing agriculture, widely introducing agro-technological approaches, and increasing productivity are being consistently carried out. This process plays a key role in enhancing the efficiency of agriculture, using land and water resources efficiently, and ensuring the economic interests of farmers and clusters. To study the process of implementing these goals in practice and provide necessary guidance, Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov visited Sirdaryo region and held a meeting with cluster leaders, farmers, and agricultural specialists at the building of the Mirzaobod district administration. The meeting was attended by cluster leaders, farmers, agricultural specialists from the region, heads of district departments, and representatives of system organizations. During the meeting, the main focus was on implementing modern technologies to increase productivity, efficiently growing crops, and enhancing the importance of agro-technical activities.
Several important issues related to cotton and wheat cultivation were discussed during the meeting, including the use of the vernalization method in agriculture, the effective use of drip irrigation technology to increase yield, and the economic and ecological advantages of growing crops under plastic and using the 76 scheme. It was noted that implementing new projects could increase productivity by two to three times. The measures planned for cotton growing in 2025 were also discussed in detail. Specifically, the plan is to increase the number of seedlings to 240,000, widely implement drip irrigation technology, and conserve water. An important topic was also the use of modern methods to combat the cotton worm and prevent potential pest threats. The Minister emphasized the importance of involving qualified specialists and strengthening the system with experienced personnel in this area. Issues of increasing farmers' incomes through the use of advanced technologies in cotton and wheat cultivation, as well as expanding agricultural product exports, were also in the spotlight. It should be noted that the recommendations and directives given will not only be a significant step for the development of agriculture in one region but will also mark the beginning of a new phase in the development of agriculture at the national level.
