Seminar in Shumanay: modern agrotechnologies are a guarantee of productivity
A practical seminar for leading farmers of the country was held in the Shumanay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, organized by the Minister of Agriculture, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov. The seminar addressed issues related to the application of agro-technologies, newly developed seed varieties based on the achievements of breeding, and scientific approaches to agriculture. The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Daryabay Kaypov, and the Governor of Shumanay district, Adilbek Ametov, also participated in the event.
The seminar became an important event where clear directions were set for farmers and practical solutions to questions regarding increased productivity were presented. The minister emphasized the need to shift from traditional methods to scientific and technological approaches in agriculture. Specifically, he focused on the introduction of 76 new cotton-growing schemes starting from 2025. These schemes will allow for the planting of 240,000 seedlings per hectare, which is expected to significantly increase yield. It was also noted that when planning planting and care processes, the unique characteristics of each plot should be considered, and these processes should be based on scientific, standardized, and experienced-based approaches.
The minister shared his thoughts on the new seed varieties developed through breeding and explained their advantages in detail. According to him, these seeds not only improve productivity but also allow for resource conservation, quality improvement, and ensuring competitiveness in international markets. Growing crops with these new seeds will help increase farmers' income.
The main goal of the seminar was to involve farmers in modern agricultural methods and strengthen their confidence in these approaches. It is also worth noting that the minister personally visited the Republic of Karakalpakstan to organize this seminar, underscoring its importance and the expected results.
During the seminar, it was also emphasized that innovative approaches in agriculture are essential not only for meeting current needs but also for long-term development. This process is of great importance for increasing agricultural production volumes in Uzbekistan, improving quality, and strengthening the country's position in international markets. At the end of the seminar, the minister gave the responsible officials tasks aimed at the long-term development of the system.
