The head of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Suy Dunyuy, visited Uzbekistan
The capital hosted an international forum on” food security and sustainable development goals of developing countries without access to the Sea". Within the framework of this international forum, the head of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Suy Dunyuy, was also closely acquainted with the activities of the National Center for knowledge and innovation in agriculture. Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Abdurahmanov explained the essence of the establishment of the Center to Suy Dunyuy and forum participants. The Uzbek-Hungarian potato growing center, located on the territory of the National Center, was also surveyed.
Foreign guests also participated in an exhibition organized at the National Center called “Agro-innovative technologies and scientific approaches”. At the exhibition, research institutes in the National Center System demonstrated more than 500 of their scientific developments.
Minister Ibrahim Abdurahmanov told guests in recent years about innovative and scientific developments in the field of Agriculture of our country, which are important for the negative consequences of climate change and the creation of drought-resistant crop varieties, ensuring food safety not only in our country, but all over the world. It should be noted that the results of scientific research, the achievements of which are important in the development of the field, made by scientists of the agrarian sphere of our country, did not leave indifferent guests, in particular, Sue Dunyuy. And in the second part of the day, the ministers of Agriculture of the states participating in the forum visited the National Center and got acquainted with the exhibited scientific developments, the laboratory, which was organized in cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman on the territory of the Center and operates internationally, as well as the training center of modern agrotechnologies, which is being The scientific and innovative activities carried out here were highly appreciated by foreign visitors.
