Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov Held a Practical Seminar with Leading Farmers of Tashkent Region in Buka District

The Minister of Agriculture, Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov, paid a working visit to Tashkent region and held a practical seminar with leading farmers of the region at the administration of Buka district. The seminar covered modern agro-technologies, new seed varieties, their productivity, and scientifically-based solutions.

During the seminar, the Minister emphasized the importance of scientific and practical approaches, highlighting the need to move away from traditional methods and introduce modern scientific approaches to increase productivity. He recommended the 76/10 scheme to the farmers, explaining that by planting 240,000 seedlings per hectare, it is possible to significantly increase yield. He emphasized that the scientific planning of land characteristics and the planting process is crucial.

The seminar also discussed the use of plastic mulching and drip irrigation technologies based on international experience. These innovative approaches allow for the efficient use of water resources, improving soil fertility, and achieving high results by using methods widely applied in Asian countries. Implementing these methods in local conditions plays an important role in increasing farmers' income and improving productivity indicators.

The Minister also provided detailed information about new seed varieties developed based on scientific approaches and modern breeding achievements. He explained to farmers the characteristics, advantages, and productivity results of each seed variety with examples. Increasing productivity through new seed varieties is not only important for farmers but also for the country's overall agricultural product exports. In this context, a natural question arose about the difference between ordinary drip irrigation and drip irrigation under plastic. The answer lies in the fact that new varieties require nutrients to reach the root system, and plastic mulching helps retain moisture and prevents water from evaporating in hot weather. This is why applying new technology is important, and it is indeed true that using it on local varieties gives excellent results.

During the seminar, the Minister, as a scientist and geneticist, approached the issues scientifically and explained the solutions in simple and accessible language. He explained to the farmers the importance of considering the specific characteristics of each region and land contours when choosing new seed varieties. It was noted that many farmers are reluctant to replace traditional varieties and avoid planting newly developed seeds. At the same time, examples were presented to show the results of planting cotton varieties in our region today and the advantages of these varieties, explained through real-life examples.

The fact that the Minister himself, both as a scientist and a responsible official, organized and conducted this seminar is not accidental. This year, due to the rapid arrival of foreign seeds, there was no time to explain the planting technologies of each seed. However, today, with the available time, the purpose of organizing this seminar with active farmers is to gather farmers from their regions and explain the essence and importance of the seminar to other farm managers. The goal is to explain the new approaches to planting and growing cotton and wheat. This seminar is aimed at creating opportunities for farmers to use new technologies and scientific approaches, which will improve their efficiency and ensure the competitiveness of national agricultural products.
