The land quality of Namangan is higher than that of Xinjiang, and crop yields will increase sharply as technology develops
Hakim of Namangan region Shavkatjon Abdurazzokov continues to familiarise himself with the reforms implemented in the regions and the work carried out in the agricultural sector of Torakorgan district.
This year 4109 hectares of cotton and 4876 hectares of grain are cultivated in the district.
First, the work carried out in the farm ‘Bakhtiyor, Nematjon, Shavkatjon’ was checked.
This year, in accordance with the President's decision to plant foreign varieties on cotton fields, the Chinese variety ‘Xin Lu Zao-78’ has been planted on a trial basis in the farm, which always works with a scientific approach to agriculture. This high-yielding, disease-resistant and early variety is grown on 420 hectares of the district.
During the visit there was a dialogue with Chinese experts. During the mutual question-and-answer session, foreign experts gave a high assessment of Namangan's land productivity. It was recognised that it is necessary to strengthen processing technologies and pay attention to nutrition. In particular, the advantages of drip irrigation were discussed.
After that, cotton care on cotton fields of ‘Torakorgon Faiz Baraka’ farm was checked. Cotton is grown on 20 hectares out of 85 hectares of the farm and full drip irrigation technology is established.
