Scientific and Results-Based Approaches in Growing Foreign Cotton Varieties Have a Positive Impact on Yield Indicators

Currently, in the field of agriculture, many new agro-projects are being implemented, including the cultivation of foreign cotton varieties, expanding their scope, obtaining high-quality yields, and organizing agro-technical measures for the autumn season. In order to closely study these processes, Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov, who is currently in the Kashkadarya region, visited the 1,500-hectare cotton field of the "Qashqadaryo Jingu" LLC in the Koson district, where the foreign “Chzhuntai-2” cotton variety has been planted. According to the responsible officials, the cotton varieties grown in the 76 scheme with double-row planting are showing the expected yield results. It has been reported that the cotton yield is 60 centners per hectare. Currently, practical activities related to the harvest process are underway.

While inspecting the cotton field and the harvest process, the Minister assessed the overall efforts and the yield indicators as satisfactory. He also emphasized how a quality approach and the correct organization of agro-technical measures could yield good results. Moreover, the Minister highlighted the need to increase caution in the fight against pests in the upcoming season, to apply scientifically-based methods in seed planting, and to establish cooperation with scientists in this regard.

Additionally, the Minister inspected the water-saving technology being implemented in the adjacent field of the same LLC, particularly the process of collecting drip irrigation hoses, and provided further recommendations and instructions for ensuring the quality of the work.
