The current state of seed preparation for the 2025 season is discussed.

Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurahmonov chaired a meeting on preparations for the 2025 crop season and the current state of seed preparation. The meeting was attended by members of the Cotton Advisory Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, heads of relevant departments and directorates of the Ministry, and leaders of system organizations. The meeting, held via video conference, started with discussions on the importation of cotton seeds from China and the preparation of a draft resolution on this matter. Minister Ibrohim Abdurahmonov emphasized the importance of this process for the country's agriculture, especially cotton farming, and suggested the need to clearly define the responsibilities and tasks of each state and private institution, including determining who will handle pricing and who will oversee the correct implementation of cotton cultivation technologies. The meeting also addressed the current state of seed preparation and the regional distribution of local and foreign cotton varieties.

According to the presented information, the situation was critically analyzed, where due to negligence by some officials, the seed preparation process had fallen behind schedule. Minister Ibrohim Abdurahmonov criticized this and warned of the consequences of such shortcomings, emphasizing that serious measures would be taken. Relevant instructions were given for controlling the process of cleaning, de-linting, and preparing seeds for planting at the lowest level. Additionally, the meeting discussed the advantages of growing foreign cotton varieties in the country based on Chinese agricultural technologies, as well as opportunities for increasing productivity by establishing protective belts on 20% of each plot. The aspects to focus on when selecting seeds were also discussed.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to organize seminars and training sessions for farmers and rural workers in the regions, with the involvement of both foreign and local specialists.
