The Madad Group really helps farmers
Increasing exports and income in the cotton textile sector by introducing a new system of increasing cotton yield, introducing seed production, variety selection, tillage, fertilisation and irrigation based on science and innovation in cotton production is the requirement of today's period.
Due to weather and other factors, various problems arise from year to year in the cultivation of agricultural produce. Scientists and experts of the industry are working on measures to solve the problem. In this process, it is desirable to draw on the experience of older farmers and agronomists. Accordingly, the Cotton Council together with the working group of the Tashkent region has started the work of the group ‘Madad’ consisting of experienced Dehkans and agronomists.
The members of the group, based on many years of experience in working on fields sown with cotton, on the basis of analysis give recommendations and proposals to farmers on improving the application of organic and mineral fertilisers, the use of modern biostimulants, the use of effective drugs to combat diseases and pests of cotton.
In addition, members of the ‘madad’ group are today instructing on the introduction of efficient irrigation systems and cost-effective technologies in the cotton growing process to prevent water shortages in Tashkent province against the backdrop of global climate change.
Another visit of the group was organised to the farm ‘sarkor’ in Buki district, which was also accompanied by Q. Yusupov, the head of the working group of the Tashkent Oblast Cotton Council, and the director of the Tashkent Oblast Agro-Services Centre.
